About Baily Garner
Baily Garner (Health & Safety) Ltd (“Baily Garner HS” or “BGHS”) has a successful trading history that extends over 30 years. The business originally started out as a team of Construction Design Management (“CDM”) planning supervisors. At the time, they were working within a multi-discipline construction consultancy based in South-East London called Baily Garner LLP, with roots in construction, environmental and social regeneration.
The BGHS business grew into a standalone sister organisation establishing itself as a limited company, Baily Garner (Health & Safety) Ltd in 1992. Over the years, BGHS has continued to expand and evolve to embrace knowledge and expertise in other areas of health and safety and in other sectors such as leisure, retail, health care, education and commercial.
Paul Lennon, MD for Baily Garner HS, commented: “We are excited to be part of the PIB Group and see this as a fantastic opportunity to leverage future plans for further growth and expansion. The ethos within PIB Risk Management is very similar to our own with the passion to be the best that we can be. We are looking forward to working closer together to enhance and develop our professional services to a wider audience. Our clients have been key to our success, and we want to continue to provide our clients with the comfort knowing that we have the depth and experience to continue this journey together. We are looking forward to working with our new colleagues and the exciting new opportunities this relationship will bring.”
Experts in their field
PIB has lived up to its reputation once again for swooping in on businesses that boast a particular specialism. For BGHS, they are an attractive investment due to their depth of professional expertise in the field of CDM and construction health & safety risk management. Setting them apart also is the team’s ability and flexibility to work directly for clients and design teams, such as architects, project managers, property consultants and developers looking to establish a bespoke project delivery team with the relevant health and safety expertise to deliver the client’s brief.
Paul Lennon commented: “Our people are our strength and collaboration means everything to us and we work hard to provide a practical and constructive approach to all our clients. We are genuinely passionate about what we do and how we build and inspire a positive and safe environment for the future across all the projects we are involved in.”
Future with PIB
Following completion of the deal, the 18-strong team will remain and continue to service their customers. Many employees are accredited and are chartered members of several institutes. Their depth of professional expertise will bolster the knowledge and experience within the PIB Risk Management business and bring a number of complementary services as well as additional new ones. This includes a bespoke web-based application that holds all BGHS commissions and enables clients to manage health and safety, files and documents online, as well as live project information.
Steven Redgwell CEO for PIB’s Specialty division which includes PIB Risk Management commented: “We are very excited to welcome all our new colleagues at Baily Garner HS to PIB Group. They offer an extensive range of products and services which will see our comprehensive risk management proposition grow even further. We have also been very attracted to their collaborative style of working which is firmly at the heart of our culture. This makes them a great match for us, and we look forward to building our future together for the benefit of customers and colleagues.”
PIB Risk Management brings together a wealth of expertise and experience from leading risk management and training providers in the UK. It formed in 2018 through the merger of Ford Risk Management and Sigerson Associates who were amongst PIB’s earliest acquisitions. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength employing around 60 employees, including 40 risk managers on the road who service clients throughout the UK. The addition of Baily Garner HS means PIB Risk Management will have a team of nearly 80 and they are looking to grow with further recruitment taking place over the coming weeks.
