Over to you Andy…
Tell us about yourself
Before joining PIB, I worked within the risk management department at a global insurance broking and risk management business. My role dealt with large multinational clients within numerous industry sectors.
Prior to that, I was in aviation claims dealing with clients from the South American region. I had grown up in Norfolk but spent 10 years living in Bolton after completing a sound engineering course. I stumbled into insurance as I relocated back to Norfolk and needed a job. I had strong customer service experience and through my job in aviation claims, I realised I wanted to be more client facing so I progressed into risk management.
What do you do in your role?
My main priorities are to handle the renewal process, invoice the client, complete due diligence and deal with any client queries when they arise.
What attracted to you to PIB as a career destination?
A friend of mine works as an Account Handler and they spoke about the ethos of PIB and how settled and welcomed they felt. As PIB is expanding rapidly, this piqued my interest as I would like to grow with the company.
What does collaboration mean to you?
Collaboration means bouncing ideas off each other and coming up with a solution to any problem or challenge faced. Collaboration also means working with each other to develop the knowledge within our various teams.
Best careers advice you’ve been given or would give?
The best advice I could give to any new starter in the insurance business is to listen, take notes and even when mistakes are made, grow with them rather than hide away from it. Its far better to be honest and learn from your mistakes.
Biggest achievement
My biggest professional achievement so far is passing my insurance certificate and becoming ‘Andrew Reeve Cert CII’. I completed this whilst starting a new job and studying during the pandemic, which was extremely tough, but still managed to pass my exams for which I am very proud of.
How do you relax outside of work?
I enjoy going to the gym with friends and can play the guitar and sing a little. I am also interested in tattoos and gigs.
One thing most people won’t know about you?
I ran 50 miles in January 2020 for Alzheimer’s society and raised £1000.
