Spotlight on…. Joanna Evans, her love for the insurance industry and extreme sports

August 26, 2021

Joanna Evans started her career in the insurance industry 20 years ago with UKInsuranceNET and worked her way up into her current role as Head of Product & Underwriting. She has a passion for delegated authority schemes and fondly refers to them as her ‘babies’. When not busy pursuing her passion in work, she is keeping busy with her love of extreme sports. Joanna tells us more….

Tell us about yourself?

I joined UKinsuranceNET in February 2001, starting in a junior role straight out of college and spent the next 10 years gaining experience in customer service, sales and finally finding my passion for underwriting and product development.

Progress included supervisory roles, team management and overall Head of Products and Underwriting in 2019.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with some really inspirational and successful people in the industry, building fantastic relationships and designing, building and operating some very profitable schemes.

I feel extremely lucky to be in a role I have so much passion for and be part of the history of the huge success which is UKinsuranceNET.

How is life at PIB so far?

I’m really enjoying being part of the Group; understanding more every day and maximising those opportunities.

One thing most people won’t know about you?

I LOVE extreme sports; training for half marathons, obstacle racing (such as Total Warrior), caving, snowboarding, climbing mountains.

Biggest achievement?

Being a mother and successful woman in business working in an industry I absolutely love.

Best piece of advice you have received or given?

“Take the job at UKinsuranceNET, it seems like a great opportunity” – wise words from my Dad in January 2001.

How do you relax outside of work?

I enjoy live music, travel, exercise and food (mainly eating it but cooking too)
