Spotlight on Kat Pietraszkiewicz… on her role in data protection, insurance and hosting TV shows

Kat Pietraszkiewicz is a Data Protection Compliance Analyst at PIB Group. She took some sound advice from her brother to transfer her skills into the insurance industry, and decided to take the leap into the unknown… Over to you Kat to tell us more…..

Tell us about yourself 

I grew up in Zielona Gora (translates to ‘Green Mountain’), a lovey city in Poland which is famous for many vineyards, winemaking legacy and the Palm House with one of the biggest indoor palms in Europe. 

I moved to the UK in 2013 and worked for a banking group in mortgages and later as a Complaints Manager. I then moved to the gambling industry where I specialised at safer gambling and enhanced due diligence reviewing accounts for affordability and suspicious activity. Now here I am at PIB - why insurance? It is thanks to a piece of advice from my brother who told me that industry would never die. 

What attracted to you to PIB as a career destination?

I got a really good feeling during the interview. I also keen to enter new waters to start working in data protection, and was attracted to PIB’s  international presence and the favourable employee online reviews. 

Best thing about being part of PIB?

Opportunity to learn and gain new experience. 

What does collaboration mean to you?

Crossing borders not building fences. 

Biggest achievement 

Moving and settling in the UK – it was a great adventure! 

How do you relax outside of work?

I enjoy long walks, a good read and gardening which is my most recent joy. 

One thing most people won’t know about you?

Back in Poland, I used to work for a local TV station. In addition to my office duties, I was given an opportunity to host shows and interviews which was great fun.
