Spotlight on …. new starter Rhiannon Hammond-Jones and working in PIB Risk Management

Rhiannon works in PIB Risk Management as a HR Consultant. Her role includes helping clients manage risks to their businesses, as well as supporting them to develop skills and confidence in all areas of HR for their employees. She shares her experience of how life has been so far at PIB and what she loves about her job. Over to you Rhiannon….

Tell us a bit about yourself? 

I have 20 years’ experience as an HR Practitioner in the health sector, higher education and most recently as an HR Consultant. I am a people person, which is why I love working in HR. Being able to help, support and increase people’s confidence is very rewarding.  

What attracted you to PIB as a career destination? 

The people ethos within the PIB Risk Management Team and having the opportunity to work with such a variety of clients!

What does your role entail? 

I help our clients manage risks to their businesses and support them to develop skills and confidence in all areas of HR. As lockdown restrictions ease further, I’ll be carrying out site visits for new clients, auditing their HR processes and developing relationships as well as visiting existing clients. 

And how is life so far at PIB? 

I’m really enjoying life at PIB.  Everyone I have met has been kind, helpful and extremely welcoming. Whilst I’m relatively new to the business, the queries are very familiar, but the context is very different – whether women’s aid organisations, white line painting, or motor trade. I’m really enjoying learning about the diverse range of businesses we serve.  

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself? 

I’m proud to have volunteered as a marshal at Covid vaccination clinics.

Biggest achievement? 

Personally, life with my daughter, and my most amazing experience to date was trekking in Nepal.

What is your best piece of careers advice you’ve been given, or you would give? 

Always seek to have constructive impact and add value, no matter how big or small.

How do you relax outside of work?

I’m a member of Doncaster Triathlon Club, a keen gardener and musician.
